If you are a highly motivated registered nurse looking to make a difference in the lives of young children and their families then this is the position for you. Community Health Nurse in Preschools is a new program being developed by Latrobe Community Health Service, funded by the Latrobe Health Assembly. It is the next step in providing early intervention services for the children in the Latrobe Valley, following the successful implementation of the Community Health Nurse in Primary Schools program.


A great opportunity for anyone seeking family/work balance .Based in a preschool setting you will work three, six hour days each week based on the pre determined preschool session times in each term.
You will not be expected to work over Victorian school holiday periods, as such, enjoy the flexibility to utilise your leave over the Victorian school holiday periods.

During term times you will be working from the preschools identifying children with health needs and assisting families to meet these needs either through referrals or health education. You will also need to undertake some health screening and work collaboratively with the wider paediatric and youth hub team to ensure the health needs of these children and families are met.

 

To be successful, you will require;

  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing
  • AHPRA Registration
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • A current Working with Children Check
