Flexible Employment Arrangements

The organisation provides a wide range of flexible working and employment arrangements. Some of these include:

Time in Lieu

A process by which staff are paid in “time” rather than money. Typically this occurs in an overtime situation.  It is subject to prior approval by a Line Manager.

Accrued Days Off (ADO)

Full time staff may access an ADO every four weeks.  Staff have their hourly rate of pay adjusted to reflect the increased hours of work.

Flexible start/finish times

In most roles within the organisation, staff may vary their start/finish times to accommodate personal or work related needs subject to the approval of the Manager. In most cases, a pattern of attendance is agreed upon (or identified in their contract of employment), however flexibility of these hours can occur either at the request of the relevant Manager or the individual staff member. This generally occurs on an ad hoc basis and is subject to the operational needs of the program and in line with the industrial agreement.

Part Time Work

The organisation employs a large number of part time staff, which provides important flexibility for those staff who seek a balance between work and family life.

Casual/Volunteer/Contract

In addition to its large permanent workforce, the organisation also employs a significant number of contract, casual and volunteer staff, making us an attractive employer simply because of the various types of roles available.

Aware Super Incentives

Members of Aware Super are entitled to special rates for financial advice for themselves and members of their immediate family.
