What you’ll be doing in this role?
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting young children to thrive in their early learning environments and transition confidently to school. Working within the School Readiness Funding (SRF) framework, you will partner with kindergarten educators and families to strengthen children’s social, emotional and developmental foundations during the critical preschool years.
Rather than delivering clinic-based therapy, this role focuses on empowering educators and families through professional development, reflective practice and practical strategies that can be embedded into everyday learning environments. Supports are delivered within your professional discipline’s scope of practice and are grounded in evidence-informed, capacity-building approaches.
Your work will include:
- Working within a multidisciplinary allied health team (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology and Social & Emotional Wellbeing) to build educator capacity & improve inclusive learning environments
- Delivering professional development sessions and collaborative workshops to kindergarten educators aligned with your discipline’s scope and expertise
- Facilitating parent information sessions focused on child development, regulation, behaviour guidance and school transition within your professional framework
- Supporting educators to reflect on classroom challenges and implement practical, evidence-informed strategies relevant to your area of practice
- Contributing discipline-specific knowledge to collaborative planning with kindergartens to maximise their School Readiness Funding allocation
- Developing and adapting resources that promote inclusion, positive behaviours and participation
- Maintaining clear documentation and participating in reflective multidisciplinary practice
What you'll need:
- Tertiary qualification in Allied Health such as Occupational therapy, Speech pathology, Psychology, Social Work
- Current AHPRA registration (or equivalent professional registration/membership relevant to your discipline)
- Demonstrated experience working with young children (0–6 years) and/or in early childhood or community health settings
- Understanding of family-centred and capacity-building practice
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence
- A current Working with Children Check (Employee)
