What you’ll be doing in this role?
This role works with people who are experiencing gambling harm - people who are self-referring for their own problems or people who are affected by someone else’s gambling issues.
This role aims to ensure easier access to all Gamblers Help services at LCHS with the emphasis on easy access to the Therapeutic and Financial Counsellors. The role will also focus on promotion of the Counselling roles in the team.
You will also have excellent computer skills especially with data and client management systems.
A sound knowledge of the health and community services sector would be desirable.
Your work will include:

Respond promptly to client inquiries with up to date and accurate information

Respond to referrals from clients and agencies for Gamblers Help services
- Ensure the effective coordination of first appointments and allocated referrals to Therapeutic and Financial Counsellors

Provide brief interventions and manage waitlist for Gamblers Help Services

Manage and maintain the calendar booking system
- Maintain processes, policies and work instructions relevant to intake process
- Promote and raise awareness of Gamblers Help and in particular, the counselling services to internal and external stakeholders in conjunction with the Community Engagement Workers

Participate in team meetings, supervision sessions and quality projects relevant to position
- Meet service delivery key performance outcomes within productivity requirements
- Other duties commensurate with position or as requested by management
What we’re looking for:
- An understanding of the needs of people and families impacted by harmful gambling
- Experience and knowledge of working in the health and/or community sector
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Services or equivalent discipline
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence
- A current Working with Children Check
