What you’ll be doing in this role?
Reporting to the Allied Health Team Leader and the Manager of the IPHS Paediatric & Youth Hub, the Psychologist will play a pivotal role in assessing, planning, and delivering integrated treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs and goals.
This role focuses on assessment, intervention, and consultation to support the mental health, emotional well-being, and developmental needs of children. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Psychologist collaborates with other health professionals, such as speech pathologists, occupational therapists, counsellors, physiotherapists, audiologist, nurses, and social workers, to deliver integrated, family-centred care.
Your work will include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessment, identify treatment goals, and provide evidence based interventions such as cognitive behaviour therapy and play therapy.
- Develop and implement tailored, evidence-based therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, play therapy) to address individual needs, providing short- and medium-term psychological support to children.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop holistic care plans, providing psychological expertise and consultation to other health professionals within the hub.
What we’re looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology
- AHPRA registration or equivalent professional membership/registration
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence
- A current Working with Children Check (Employee)
- Experience in working with complex needs children and families.
- Experience in working with young clients with mental health diagnoses.
- Experience in diagnostic assessments and behavioural assessment, plans and interventions.
