Financial Counsellor (Gamblers Help Service)

The Gambler’s Help program provides a regional counselling and education service which focuses on behaviour change counselling, consultation and education for clients and their families.


The Financial counsellor provides high quality counselling to assist people to address financial distress as a result of gambling harm. Develop and implement strategies to support people manage debt and make informed money choices about their money in the future. Further services provided will include direct case work, advocacy and negotiation, referrals and community education. The program is available to anyone impacted by gambling harm or affected other (family/friends) with the aim of assisting people to become financially independent. They will also provide assessment, and referral functions, which maximise the ability of clients to function effectively in all aspects of their lives

To be successful, you will require;

  • Diploma or Community Services (Financial Counselling) or equivalent
  • Registration with Financial or Consumer Rights Council
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check
  • Victorian Driver Licence
