What you’ll be doing in this role?

The Apprentice Dental Technician will participate in a three (3) year Dental Technician apprenticeship with an expectation to complete all training components required to become fully qualified. 

The apprentice will learn and build their skill in all aspects of dental appliance construction within the Churchill laboratory and provide dental technology services to all metro dental services divisions, inclusive of: LCHS rural and metro Community Dental Programs, Smile Squad, private dental and specialist services, dental prosthetic services provided under the Peninsula Health and Bass Coast service agreements.

Your work will include:

  • Progress from observing, to assisting, to fabrication and modification of dental prosthetics using a variety of materials and techniques.
  • Participate in education, training and laboratory supervised practice as required by the training institution
  • Observe and learn the function of dental equipment; supervised trouble shooting equipment issues by following approved protocols

What we’re looking for:

  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated time-management and organisation skills 
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • A current Working with Children Check (Employee)
