At Latrobe Community Health Service you’ll be part of a positive and passionate workplace. We’re dedicated to providing you with career opportunities through work that is rewarding and meaningful within the community.
What you’ll be doing in this role?
In this role, you will take on a dynamic combination of clinical practice, student supervision, and leadership. As the Clinical Supervisor you will report to the Oral Health Manager and play a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and patient‑centred care across the Oral Health Services.
Your main responsibility will be to provide clinical oversight and guidance to dental students and on‑duty clinicians, ensuring best‑practice standards in all aspects of dental care. You will demonstrate procedures, supervise student treatments, and foster professional growth through mentorship, feedback and daily support.
You will also conduct client follow‑up and quality assurance activities, including clinical audits, peer reviews and treatment plan evaluations. When complex or high‑risk cases arise, you will ensure timely management, documentation and escalation to the Oral Health Manager.
Beyond your clinical duties, you will contribute to continuous quality improvement - helping to refine clinical workflows, strengthen patient satisfaction, and drive team collaboration across administrative and operational areas. Part of your leadership will include assisting with staff recruitment, induction, and training, as well as contributing to incident reviews, performance feedback, and service improvement initiatives.
In essence, you will combine the rigour of high‑quality dental practice with the satisfaction of teaching and mentoring - ensuring that every student, clinician and patient benefits from your expertise, professionalism and commitment to excellence.
Your work will include:
- Supervising and demonstrating clinical care to dental students
- Providing oversight, guidance and mentoring to clinicians
- Conducting clinical audits, reviewing treatment plans and monitoring quality outcomes
- Managing client follow‑up and ensuring patient issues are addressed promptly
- Supporting the recruitment, orientation, and development of new dentists
- Contributing to continuous improvement in workflows, standards and patient experience
What we are looking for:
- AHPRA‑registered Dentist with proven clinical and leadership expertise
- Passion for teaching, mentoring and professional development
- Understanding of community dental programs and evidence‑based practice
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with emotional intelligence and empathy
- Commitment to teamwork, innovation and continuous quality improvement
- Alignment with our values of integrity, excellence, and service
What’s in it for you?
- Leadership and mentoring role in a supportive, integrated health service
- Opportunities to influence clinical standards and educational outcomes
- Access to structured learning, buddy systems, and professional development plans
- Modern facilities, collaborative team culture and strong community connection
- A chance to make a real impact - improving oral health and strengthening regional communities
